Starting a new thread, not OT but maybe a little

As most of you know I have the Swine Flu. I had an appt for today with my orthopedic Dr to get the shots in my knees and my heel, but called yesterday to cancel and rescheduled them as I sure didn't want to be infecting others in his waiting room.

He called me last night and said he would be out here, at my home at 7am to give me the shots, man you could have knocked me over with a feather, but this man is quite a good Dr in my book and I won't let anyone but him do my 'repairs' as needed.

Now to the on topic part. He has Border Collies. Well ..................... there is a new love affair going on here between him, Shania and Mitch. He is absolutely 'smitten.' Was almost late for his office hours which start at 9am. He was too busy playing with the Belgies.

His BC's are getting up in years. He lives outside of town on some acreage, has some livestock, including sheep and two donkeys. He asked a lot of questions, will be doing some research on line and wants to come out and watch Shania and Mitch move Eric's sheep the next time.

Now Mitch is always willing to meet new people, Shania waits 'usually until I tell her to say hello. Well .....................................not this time, it was almost instant attraction (and she is not fond of men unless she knows them). The Vet, my son-in-law etc they are okay but others nope not usually. She practically fell over herself, and Doc is fast becoming enamored of our breed!

I pointed him here and to BelgL to get a start and did copy the web addy's of some of y'all sites so he can garner more info and ask questions of those more knowledgeable than me. I do believe in the not too distant future there may be another Groen or two here in my neck of the woods.

I am happy to report to both Judy and Sharon that their 'offspring' did a BANG UP JOB of showing off all their 'good' points. <vbg>

I hope Natalie sees this, as two Belg, G & T were returned frm their (1) family who had a radical downturn in circumstance due to recession.
She says they are young & they both are lovely.
Sev pics up on facebook.
Funny how Belgians just touch your heart, huh?
Hope you get to feeling better!

Thanks for the info.

If Natilie sees this, please PM me your email and I will pass it on to my Dr. and will PM you his full name.

I am slowly feeling better, sleeping, dozing, getting a bit of an appetite back, but still having 'fevers' so I know it's not gone yet.

The fur kids are doing great and are showing no signs of any of my symptoms. It's been 8 days now (and incubation is 3) so I don't think they are going to catch it. Thankfully though I don't have any cats.

That is really cool! Having had "an oversized" border collie (mix with Malamute) as my first love, I understand his instant attraction. I must say our girls have advised me that as much as miss Layla loved me, they show it even more. I bet he'd really enjoy having one in his life as he's used to the energy of a working dog. (not for the timid).

Laurie, hope you buck up and feel better very soon...that's my prayer anyway.

Re. the dogs? God willing, loving "owners" will find their way to all of the good doggies and happy relationships w/all will prevail.

Get better very soon, my friend.

A good place would be the Breeder Referral page at either www.abtc.org or www.bsca.info

There are lots of breeders in the Southwest.
